The Chicago Theatre often leaves visitors breathless with its splendor. Built in 1921 as one of the first opulent movie houses in the country, the building is now on the National Register of Historic Places. It features a gorgeous auditorium, murals, grand staircase and an opulent lobby. The architecture of the building is French Baroque. The exterior features a State Street marquee and a replica of the Arc de Triomphe of Paris. The triumphal arch has a glazed terra cotta face and a grand window with stained glass panel. The Chicago Theater is currently owned by Madison Square Garden. The Cadillac Palace Theater was originally opened in 1926 as the Palace Theater. It was designed by the Rapp Brothers as a flagship location of the Orpheum Circuit and attracted a lot of legendary stars. Raven Theatre in Chicago is a not for profit organization that showcases educational programs, collaborated plays, produced Chicago theater shows and artists. Raven Theatre was established in the year 1983 and since then has been serving the community's needs through its collaborations and ensemble. The theatre includes parking areas, a lobby, world class technical support, West Stage with seating for 60 and the East Stage with seating for 150 patrons. Raven Theatre was originally a theater for 70 located in Rogers Park. Since then it has been relocated to Clark Street and has been expanded to accommodate more patrons.
